Rearrangement of provinces should be done on historical, cultural and ethnic basis

President BNP Sardar Akhtar jan Mengal Has stated that Baloch nation can not allow anyone to occupy its land or resources. He demanded that rearrangement of provinces should be done on historical, cultural and ethnic basis which will ultimately lead to inclusion of DG Khan, Rajan Pur and other similar areas in Balochistan because they have been part of Balochistan historically. He claimed that people of DG Khan and Rajan Pur are also in favor of inclusion in Balochistan because this is where their historical roots lie. he went on to say that disintegration of Balochistan was actually a conspiracy against Balochs.

Commenting on the demand for Siraiki province, he held that Balochs support the cause of all oppressed nations like Siraikis but at the same time they cannot alllow anyone to annex Baloch areas into Siraiki province.

Pakistani Military and ISI is responsible

KARACHI - Elderly Baloch politician and former chief minister of

Balochistan Sardar Attaullah Mengal has said the root causes of problems in

Balochistan were the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and security

institutions, and suggested the withdrawal of army, release of missing

persons and trial of those arrested on murder and kidnapping charges in

courts as the solution.

In an interview with Voice of Germany here on Sunday, Mengal said Balochs

had reached to the point of no return as they could not get their rights by

remaining within the geographical frontiers of Pakistan and they had

decided not to be part of the country.

Mengal said Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Pakistan Muslim

League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif met him but no one had the

power to stop the army’s intervention in Balochistan. He warned that if the

army’s intervention continued, no one would be able to stop the

disintegration of Pakistan. He was of the opinion that the Baloch people

were receiving the same treatment as Bengalis. He said every day disfigured

dead bodies of Baloch youths were being received and people were being

kidnapped, which was a source of serious concern.

He said he had no contacts with Baloch youths who were on the mountains

and, in a message to them, said if they could fight, they should do so

otherwise they should not cause difficulties for their families and return

home.

Mengal said Baloch youths were not under his control and had he been not

aged, he would have been fighting alongside them in the mountains.

BNP condemns target killings of Balochs in Karachi

QUETTA: BNP while strongly condemning murder of Farooq Baloch, Shahnawaz Baloch` and Ghulam Rasool by a fascist party said that terrorists continue killing spree in Siddiq Goth in the presence of security forces but security forces instead of arresting the culprits desecrated chaddar and chadar deewari by besieging the area and house to hiuse search of Balochs. Press release issued by the party said that this organization has killed hundreds of Balochs and it was still bent upon killing them ruthlessly. It said that sate institutions instead of taking action against this fascist party had kept mum over the target killings of Balochs. It said that the party wants to strengthen its control over Karachi by killing innocent Balochs but BNP will never allow Baloch killings. Party further said that electronic media was biased over Baloch genocide. The press release said that BNP will continue raising voice for Balochs whether they are in Karachi or elsewhere in the country.

US has urged Pakistan

*WASHINGTON: The US has urged Pakistan to “really lead and conduct a

dialogue that takes the Balochistan issue forward”, says the US State

Department.*

State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland addressed the issue in a

“twitter-briefing” that the department holds every Friday, allowing people

from around the world to tweet their questions to her.

“This was a very popular question on our feed, so we wanted to make sure

that we answered it today,” said Ms Nuland who focused on the violence

plaguing Balochistan instead of tackling political issues raised in most of

the tweets.

“The United States is deeply concerned about the ongoing violence in

Balochistan, especially targeted killings, disappearances and other human

rights abuses,” she said.

“This is a complex issue. We strongly believe that the best way forward is

for all the parties to resolve their differences through peaceful dialogue.”

The State Department official noted that the US took the allegations of

human rights abuses very seriously and had discussed these issues with

Pakistani officials. “And we also urged them to really lead and conduct a

dialogue that takes this issue forward,” she concluded.
